ECNL GIRLS ANNOUNCES LOCATIONS FOR REGIONAL LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIPS, REGIONAL LEAGUE FINALS

-League also announces first national events for 2022-23 season-

RICHMOND, Va. (April 8, 2022) – Today the ECNL Girls is thrilled to announce multiple Regional League national events over the next 12 months, including the 2021-22 post-season Regional League Championship Events, the 2021-22 Regional League Finals, and the first 2022-23 Regional League regular-season national events. 

As part of the new ECNL Regional League playoff structure, ECNL Girls will host three Regional League Championships this season:

  • ECNL Regional League Championship – Northeast, held at PDA Training Complex in Somerset, New Jersey
  • ECNL Regional League Championship – Southeast, held at Bryan Park in Greensboro, North Carolina
  • ECNL Regional League Championship – Texas, held at Railroad Park Soccer Fields in Lewisville, Texas

At each Regional League Championship, the U13-U19 age groups will compete in an eight-team knockout bracket, with each team playing a guaranteed three games. In each age group, the winning team will join the five automatic qualifiers from other Regional Leagues to participate in the Regional League Finals in Seattle, Washington, which will be held concurrently with the ECNL Girls Club Competition National Playoffs. 

“We are extremely excited to announce the locations for the Regional League Championships this summer,” said ECNL Chief Operating Officer and Girls Commissioner Jen Winnagle. “An exciting post-season is an important part of the Regional League overall, giving teams and players goals to aim for throughout the season and rewarding the best for their performances.”

In addition to the locations of the 2021-22 Regional League Championships and Finals, ECNL Girls is also excited to announce three ECNL Regional League national events for the 2022-23 season. 

For the 2022-23 season, the ECNL will be holding Regional League national events at the following locations:

  • St. Louis, MO – December 2022
  • Florida – January 2023
  • Davis, CA – March 2023

“ECNL National events attract college coaches from all over the country to watch and scout players,” continued Winnagle.  “These highly-recruitable games over the course of the season, all in different regions, are important to the Regional League athletes and clubs, and will provide significant opportunities for players to be seen and evaluated to play at the next level.” 

Additional ECNL Regional League national events, including dates and locations, will be announced at a later date.
