The ECNL College Impact – Big 12 Conference
RICHMOND, VA (November 14, 2017) – With ECNL Alums making up 65% of the entire Big 12 in 2017, and 70% of the conference’s honorees, the ECNL College Impact on the Big 12 is overwhelming. The ECNL College Impact series catalogs the incredible impact of ECNL Alums on collegiate women’s soccer every year. In 2017, once again, ECNL Alums are dominating the landscape in conferences all over the country.
The ECNL College Impact for the Big 12 Conference includes all players currently active on Big 12 rosters:
- 185 ECNL Alum are currently playing in the Big 12 Conference – 65% of the total players in the Big 12.
- Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year (Haley Woodard) and Big 12 Freshman of the Year (Haley Berg) are an ECNL Alums.
- There are 62 ECNL Alums in the 2017 Big 12 freshman class, nearly 70% of the class.
- Over 80% of the 2017 Big 12 All-Freshman Team are ECNL Alums and 17 players on the 2017 Big 12 First Team and Second Team are ECNL Alums.
The Big 12 Conference includes Baylor University, Iowa State, Kansas University, Kansas State University, Oklahoma University, Oklahoma State University, Texas Christian University, the University of Texas, Texas Tech University, and West Virginia University.
With ECNL Alums constituting the majority of the conference and the overwhelming majority of conference honorees, it is clear where the future Big 12 stars are playing youth soccer.
