ECNL College Impact – The Southland Conference

RICHMOND, VA (November 22, 2016) – Elite Clubs National League College Impact series catalogs the incredible impact the ECNL has had on college women’s soccer since its founding in 2009, and which increases every year. Across college soccer, the “ECNL player” is the epitome of the next generation collegiate soccer player and collegiate soccer star.

The ECNL College Impact is measured by the number of ECNL alumni that have moved on to collegiate soccer, and by their contribution to collegiate athletic conferences all over the United States. This week, the ECNL examines the Southland Conference.

The ECNL College Impact for the Southland Conference includes all players currently active on Southland rosters:

  • 155 ECNL Alums are currently playing in the Southland – 53% of the Freshmen in the Southland are ECNL alums.
  • 73% of the players of the All-Southland First Team are ECNL Alums – ECNL Alums make up nearly 66% of the All-Southland honorees.
  • The Southland Player of the Year and Forward of the Year, Camille Bassett, Southland Midfielder of the Year, Hanna Barker, Southland Goalkeeper of the Year, Alex Latham, and the Southland Freshman Player of the Year, Shay Johnson, are ECNL Alums.

 The Southland Conference includes Abilene Christian University, University of Central Arkansas, Houston Baptist University, University of Incarnate Word, Lamar University, McNeese State University, Nicholls State University, Northwestern State University, Sam Houston State University, Southeastern Louisiana University, Stephen F. Austin State University and Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi.
