ECNL College Impact – The Southern Conference

RICHMOND, VA (November 22, 2016) – Elite Clubs National League College Impact series catalogs the incredible impact the ECNL has had on college women’s soccer since its founding in 2009, and which increases every year. Across college soccer, the “ECNL player” is the epitome of the next generation collegiate soccer player and collegiate soccer star.

The ECNL College Impact is measured by the number of ECNL alumni that have moved on to collegiate soccer, and by their contribution to collegiate athletic conferences all over the United States. This week, the ECNL examines the Southern Conference (SoCon).

The ECNL College Impact for the Southern Conference includes all players currently active on SoCon rosters:

  • 111 ECNL Alums are currently playing in the SoCon – nearly 50% of the Freshmen in the SoCon are ECNL alums.
  • 67% of the players of the SoCon All-Freshman Team are ECNL Alums.
  • The SoCon Defensive of the Year, Olivia Cole, and the SoCon Freshman Player of the Year, Allie Lourie, are ECNL Alums.

The Southern Conference includes The Citadel, East Tennessee State University, Furman University, Mercer University, University of North Carolina Greensboro, Samford, University of Tennessee Chattanooga, Virginia Military Institute, Western Carolina University and Wofford College.
