ECNL College Impact – The Big East Conference
RICHMOND, VA (November 9, 2016) – Elite Clubs National League College Impact series catalogs the incredible impact the ECNL has had on college women’s soccer since its founding in 2009, and which increases every year. Across college soccer, the “ECNL player” is the epitome of the next generation collegiate soccer player and collegiate soccer star.
The ECNL College Impact is measured by the number of ECNL alumni that have moved on to collegiate soccer, and by their contribution to collegiate athletic conferences all over the United States. This week, the ECNL examines the Big East Conference.
The ECNL College Impact for the Big East includes all players currently active on Big East rosters:
- 155 ECNL Alums are currently playing in the Big East Conference – 58% of the total players in the Conference.
- Big East Midfielder of the Year, Alexa Ben, Big East Defensive Player of the Year, Morgan Proffitt, Goalkeeper of the Year, Diana Poulin, and Big East Freshman of the Year, Amanda Carolan, are an ECNL Alums.
- 82% of the 2016 Big East All-Freshman Team are ECNL Alums and 13 Players on the 2016 Big East First Team and Second Team are ECNL Alums.
The Big East Conference includes Butler University, Creighton University, DePaul University, Georgetown University, Marquette University, Providence College, Seton Hall University, St. John’s College, Villanova University and Xavier University.
With the majority of the conference, and the majority of the conference honorees, it is clear where the future Big East stars are playing youth soccer.
