AYW Spotlight | Hannah Rosenblatt

RICHMOND, VA (November 3, 2016) – The ECNL and the Amazing Young Women movement is dedicated to showcasing females that have helped shape the league into the top female youth soccer development platform in the world.  As part of the movement, the ECNL is encouraging amazing young women to share their stories.  We are excited to announce Hannah Rosenblatt as the ECNL Amazing Young Woman Spotlight of the Week. Rosenblatt is a sophomore for the Northeastern University (NU) and an ECNL Alum of FC Stars of Massachusetts.

Rosenblatt is a native of Lincoln, Massachusetts where she played club soccer with FC Stars for nearly a decade, starting at age 8 and remaining with the club until she graduated from high school. She was named an All-Conference member all four years of her high school soccer career and part of the All-State team her senior year, having tallied 24 goals and 19 assists. In addition to a stellar high school career, Rosenblatt returned to play for her youth soccer club last summer, and named the WPSL all-star at the end of the season.

Northeastern clinched the Colonial Athletic Conference (CAA) regular season title last week while Rosenblatt picked up her second CAA Player of the Week recognition this season. She led the team with three out of the four goals last weekend to solidify their top seed going into the post season. Two of those goals came against James Madison in a 2-1 win, while the other goal came in the 82nd minute of NU’s 2-0 win over Towson.

As a freshman in her first collegiate start, she scored her first goal and the game winner against the University of Massachusetts Lowell. She saw playing time in 18 games last season. As a sophomore, Rosenblatt has made a tremendous impact, starting the last 13 games and averaging 1.34 points per game this season. Her 11 goals and 26 points both rank fourth-highest in a single season in NU Women’s Soccer history. She has also tallied four assists and four game-winning goals this season.

“It is no surprise that ‘Rosie’ has had success at the college level. Her commitment to improve in training on a daily basis and playing in games in the ECNL for FC Stars was always at 100%.” said Jason Dewhurst, FC Stars Director of Coaching. “While playing for FC Stars in the ECNL she was a role model to all of our younger players within the club, and this has continued with her transition to Northeastern University.”

We wish Hannah Rosenblatt the best of luck in the post season, as the Huskies prepare for the CAA tournament. Thank you for being an Amazing Young Woman and blazing the trail for others.
