ECNL College Impact | The Power 5

Power 5 (690x330)RICHMOND, VA (December 4, 2015) – For the second year in a row, alums from the Elite Clubs National League overwhelmingly dominated the 2015 individual awards in the SEC, ACC, Big Ten, Pac-12, and Big 12, also known as the “Power 5” NCAA conferences.  The 2015 freshman class of ECNL Alums accounted for 41 of the 60 total 2015 All-Freshman honors in the Power 5, and in total, ECNL Alums claimed 11 different Player of the Year awards and 118 All-Conference honors.

Beyond just the individual award winners, there were 1,040 ECNL Alums playing at college soccer’s highest levels in the Power 5 this season:

  • Pac-12 – 224 ECNL Alums
  • Big Ten – 223 ECNL Alums
  • Big 12 – 157 ECNL Alums
  • ACC – 228 ECNL Alums
  • SEC – 213 ECNL Alums

The transformative impact of the ECNL has never been more apparent than the list of 2015 award winners in the Pac-12, Big Ten, Big 12, ACC, and SEC:

Pac-12

  • 2015 Pac-12 Player of the Year (Arielle Ship, Real So Cal)
  • 2015 Pac-12 Freshman of the Year (Alana Cook, Match Fit Academy)
  • 2015 Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year (Kayla Mills, Slammers FC)
  • 2015 Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Year (Jane Campbell, Concorde Fire)
  • 10 of 11 players in the 2015 Pac-12 All-Conference First Team
  • 13 of 22 players in the 2015 Pac-12 All-Conference Second Team and Honorable Mention
  • 8 of 11 in the 2015 Pac-12 All-Freshman Team

  • 2015 Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year (Casey Murphy, Rutgers)
  • 2015 Big Ten Forward of the Year (Simone Kolander, Minnesota Thunder)
  • 11 of 22 in the 2015 Big Ten All-Conference First and Second Teams
  • 10 of 16 in the 2015 Big Ten All-Freshman Team

Big 12

  • 2015 Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year (Janine Beckie, Real Colorado)

ACC

  • 2015 ACC Offensive of the Year (Makenzy Doniak, Slammers FC)
  • 5 of 11 in the 2014 ACC All-Conference First Team
  • 14 of 22 in the 2014 ACC All-Conference Second and Third Teams
  • 8 of 11 in the 2015 ACC All-Freshman Team

SEC

  • 2015 SEC Offensive Player of the Year (Savannah Jordan, Concorde Fire)
  • 2015 SEC Freshman of the Year (CeCe Kizer, Sporting Blue Valley)
  • 14 of 25 in the 2015 SEC All-Conference First and Second Teams
  • 7 of 11 in the 2015 SEC All-Freshman Team
