#ECNLAYW | Anna Beffer
RICHMOND, VA (July 9, 2015) – The 2014-15 ECNL season is dedicated to celebrating the Amazing Young Women that have helped mold this league into the top female youth soccer platform in the world. As part of the campaign, the ECNL is encouraging amazing young women to share their stories. Anna Beffer is a current member of the Oklahoma State Women’s Soccer team and TSC Hurricane Alum. The ECNL caught up with Anna to learn more about her both on and off the field.
Q: Describe yourself in 2-3 Sentences:
A: I try to live my life for the Lord every day. I love playing soccer at Oklahoma State, and being a student. I really enjoy spending time with friends and family.
Q: What is your juggling record?
A: I’ve never really tried to go as long as I could but my highest is around 300!
Q: What do you miss most about club soccer?
A: I really miss the relationships I had with my teammates and coaches.
Q: What is your favorite college soccer memory so far?
A: Scoring my first collegiate goal against TU was definitely one of the highlights of my freshman year.
Q: Who is your soccer idol?
A: Lionel Messi
Q:Â Do you have any siblings?
A: I have a younger sister, Isabella.
Q: If you could be an animal, what would you be and why?
A: Cheetah, I think it would be so cool to be that fast…
Q: Coffee or tea?
A: Chocolate milk
Q: What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
A: Chocolate chip cookie dough
Q: When did you start playing soccer?
A: Age 5 or 6
Q: Did you play any other sports growing up?
Q: Who is your favorite actor/actress?
A: Melissa McCarthy
Q: What is your biggest fear?
A: Not pushing myself to reach my full potential, whether it’s soccer or anything in life.
Q: Define “team” in your own words
A: A group of people who push each other to be better, and who love each other and believe in one another’s abilities.
Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: The movie 42 or The Parent Trap, it depends on what mood Iâ€™m in.
Q: What is in your purse/backpack at this moment?
A: Wallet and keys, I’m boring. I tend to lose things so I try to carry as little as possible.
Q: One thing you wished you knew at age 12.
A: Junk food will eventually catch up to you so enjoy it now
Q: Champions League or English Premier League?
A: English Premier League
Q: What is your favorite quote?
A: Hebrews 12:1 “Therefore since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders us, and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.”
Q: What is your dream job?
A: I would love to work for a professional sports franchise.
Q: If you had to sing karaoke, what song would you sing?
A: Any Dierks Bentley song
Q: Do you have any pregame superstitions?
A: No, I don’t have any crazy superstitions other than I guess making sure my ankles are taped! My biggest thing is making sure I say a quick prayer before the whistle blows.
Q: What is something most people do not know about you?
A: I like doing calligraphy.
Q: ECNL prepared me for _______.
A: TSC, an ECNL Member Club, prepared me for playing at a high level and executing under pressure. It also really helped me learn to manage my time and make the transition into college a little easier.
