RICHMOND, Va. (October 14, 2014) – The 2014-2015 ECNL Season is dedicated to celebrating the Amazing Young Women that helped mold this league into the top female youth soccer platform in the country. As part of the Amazing Young Women campaign, the ECNL is reaching out and sharing their stories.
Elizabeth Ball is a current freshman at Penn State University, and former ECNL standout for the Richmond Strikers. Elizabeth had an outstanding youth career, and is continuing to make her mark. She is one of five current freshman starting for the No. 6 Nittany Lions.
Q: PB&J or Grilled Cheese?
A: Grilled Cheese
Q: Which ECNL National Event was your favorite and why?
A: San Diego was my favorite trip because it was so pretty and we got to go to the beach and shopped in our down time.
Q: What is your juggling record?
A: Somewhere in the 400s
Q: If you could coach Penn State for one training session, what would it entail?
A: Our normal pre-game practice. Which entails the competitive heading game that we look forward to every week.
Q: What is your major?
A: Biology
Q: What is something that most people do not know about you?
A: I have an obsession with shoes
Q: If you could be a Disney character, which one would you be and why?
A: Winnie the Poo because he gets to sit around and eat honey all day
Q: What is your favorite vacation destination?
A: The Outer Banks
Q: What is your favorite food?
A: Steak
Q: Do you have any game day superstitions?
A: I have to listen to my favorite song like 10 times before the game
Q: What is in your purse/backpack at this very moment?
A: Chap stick, my ID, and my phone charger
Q: What is you fondest soccer memory?
A: Winning states my junior year of high school
Q: Do you have any siblings?
A: I have an older brother who is 27
Q: Who is your biggest soccer inspiration?
A: My teammate, Whitney Church
Q: What is the strangest thing that has ever happened to you while on a soccer trip?
A: In high school one of my teammates had to pee in a cup on the bus and when we were getting off the bus she spilled it everywhere at the front of the bus.
Q: If you won $1 million, what would you do first?
A: Buy a black Range Rover
Q: Rate yourself on a scale from 1 to 10 on how weird you are.
A: A solid 9
Q: ECNL prepared me for __________.
A: College soccer in a sense that I got to play with and against some of the top girls in the country which allowed me to really develop as a player.
