ECNL Announces 2013 ECNL/id2 National Training Camp Roster

RICHMOND, Va. (July 22, 2013): The Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) , US Club Soccer, and Nike have announced the attendees of and schedule for the 2013 ECNL / id2 National Training Camp taking place August 2-5 at Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Ore.

The camp will include approximately 100 of the top female youth soccer players born in 1995, 1996, and 1997 from across the United States, as well as a select team of 18 players born in 1998 selected from all attendees of the id2 Program Training Camps held over the past twelve months. The players will come together for three days of elite training, competition and presentations at one of the world’s premier athletic facilities.

Beyond the trainings, competitions, and presentations scheduled for the camp, players will also attend a Portland Thorns NWLS match to watch the highest level of women’s professional soccer live. US Soccer staff will also be on-site to scout players for potential inclusion in U.S. Soccer’s Youth National Team programs.

The camp is a joint effort between the ECNL, US Club Soccer’s id2 National Player Identification and Development Program, and Nike. Consistent with the philosophy of US Club Soccer’s id2 Program, the 2013 ECNL / id2 National Training Camp is open to all players regardless of U.S. Soccer affiliation, or lack thereof, and is sanctioned as an Olympic Development Program by US Soccer and the United States Olympic Committee (USOC).

“The ECNL / id2 National Training Camp is one of the most elite training camps in the country, and is an opportunity for some of the country’s best young players to train and compete at the highest level, against the very best in the United States, in a world-class facility,” said ECNL Executive Director Jay Howell.

There is no cost to players aside from travel to and from the camp. Lodging, meals and training gear are provided by the ECNL, US Club Soccer and Nike.

“The cooperation between the ECNL, US Club Soccer, and Nike is an example of how great organizations can work together to create more opportunities for players, and create programs that can help raise the level of play in this country at very little cost to the players,” said ECNL Commissioner Sarah Kate Noftsinger.
